Alpha Gamma Rho gives you an instant connection with others at the UofA. You will become best friends with your Brothers while your in college. Not only will you live with other members but you will study, work and hang out with them as well. AGR offers many leadership opportunities from serving as an officer to organizing a community service or brotherhood retreat. You may not realize it but leadership qualities are instilled into our members through many of the activities and roles within the Fraternity. Officers like Finance, Public Relations, House Operations and Noble Ruler give hands on experience that can be used in the real world.

 

The undergraduate phase of AGR is first and foremost a student organization. There is a reason that the first word is student. We are in college to get an education so we can go out and get a career. We realize this because we are, like you, a student ourselves. The house fosters an environment that is good for studying. There is a library with a table, couch, desk, bookshelves and a computer with internet access. There is also wireless internet access throughout the house for those with laptops. Natural study groups are formed because we are all in the same general field. Many of your peers and upperclassmen will be enrolled in the same classes or have been enrolled in them before.  It really helps going to classes with those you live with and having friends who have been there before to ask for help from.

 

We also realize that one of the reasons you are in college is to graduate and get a great job in the industry. After graduation, membership in the Fraternity doesn’t end. Alpha Gamma Rho boasts a network of over 60,000 alumni that lead the Agriculture industry. They can be very useful when it comes to finding a great internship and future job. We have alumni connections in almost every aspect of the agricultural industry from production agriculture to public relations and from agricultural research to distribution. Our alumni boasts big names such as John Deere, Coca Cola, Cargill Animal Nutrition, Department of Agriculture, Kellogg, Tyson and the list goes on and on.
